Seminar ‘Celebrating Data! What’s next?’ on November 28th

Registration is open for the seminar ‘Celebrating Data! What’s Next?‘ on Wednesday, November 28, at the Dutch national research organization NWO in The Hague. Time: from 9:45 am to 4:00 pm.

Dr. Rens van de Schoot, associate professor Methodology and Statistics; member of the ‘Jonge Akademie’ of the KNAW will give a keynote. After that two series of four parallel sessions will be held:

  1. Learn more about data support
  2. Data support and coordination from start to finish
  3. The General Data Protection Regulation in your data management plan
  4. Research as a service: the best working environment for your research

Award Ceremony Dutch Data Prize 2018

Part of the program is the award ceremony of the winner of the Dutch Data Prize 2018. The Data Prize will be awarded for a scientist or research group that has made an extraordinary contribution to science by making research data available for additional or new research. Nine out of 47 submitted research projects were nominated.

The award ceremony will be hosted by Mr. Stan Gielen, president of NWO. Poster presentations of the nominees will take place during the lunch break.

Who should attend?

The seminar is organized for researchers and research supporters/data stewards at Dutch universities to meet and exchange information.

The seminar is a follow up of the two Data Stewardship Meet your Peers! networking days organized by LCRDM and UKB Research Data in 2017.

Research Data Office

The Research Data Officers of Tilburg University participate in the Working Group Research Data of the consortium UKB. This Working Group has organized the second parallel session on data support. Case studies will be presented on the often very complex process of providing data support to researchers from different organizational units (e.g. grant support, legal affairs, IT department, research data office). Among the case studies are Dutch Data Prize nominees.

Program and registration

Main language of the day is in Dutch, presentations in English.

Places are limited, so don’t wait too long.
