Get your ORCID!

Door: Petra Dickhaut | Categorie: publishing

As a researcher, it can be difficult to distinguish your work from other scientists, as names are not unique. ORCID provides you with a unique identifier that can be used throughout the research and publishing life-cycle. As it is an international identifier it can be used throughout your career and worldwide. It increases your visibility, will improve the discoverability of your work and prevent name ambiguity with other authors. More and more publishers use the ORCID as well. Here you can read even more reasons to get yourself an ORCID.

You can get and start using your ORCID in 4 steps:

      • Register – quick and easy online registration on https://orcid.org/register or currently directly through Pure, see “Add”
      • Connect – synchronise all other author IDs with ORCID
      • Add – your ID in your profile information in Pure https://pure.uvt.nl/admin
      • Include – your ORCID when you submit publications or apply for funding
